The reference for this painting is my son’s eye. He was 16 at the time I took the picture. He was looking out our front window at the bird feeder. I love the reflection of the window in his hazel eyes. My goal was to capture the that reflection but I see so much more looking at it now. His eyes seem full of promise and possibility.
It was one of my first pastel paintings to be sold. It is amazing to look back (it is 2017 as I type this) on this and see that I have made improvements in technique over the years. I wonder where it is hanging now?
