Goldfinsh Feast

Goldfinch Feast

14″ x 11″
Uart 400 paper.
Soft pastels

We have a lot of goldfinches at our feeder in the summer. I love to listen to their twittering. It sounds to me like they are gossiping among themselves.

I love the colors of the purple coneflowers too.  Their soft focus keeps them from being too much of a distraction from the feathered jewel while still giving it a sense of place.

You can see a slideshow of photos I took while painting this on my YouTube channel.

Although this painting has a home with a Mizzou professor, you can get it on cards and notebooks in my RedBubble shop.
