Nitram Charcoal & white chalk on Stonehenge Colors paper
With such a “simple” subject, I knew I would really need to nail the values. I put simple in quotes because there is not a lot of detail or colors to distract from any value mistakes. So I took my time and really got to know this subject before painting it a final time in soft pastels. It paid off in the end!
This piece and the final pastel piece were juried in to CALs Indulge art show. You can read more about the final piece and my reasons for choosing this subject here. Both will be available at Columbia Art League for the duration of the show.
Frame included in price.
