Drawing Tutorial

This is one of those things that I’ve done so much I really really thinking about it. It’s “just something I do” when I don’t know what to draw or when I’m feeling like I’ve forgotten how to draw. Silly, but sometimes the doubt-monster takes over and this is how I defeat it!

Thanks to questions from friends, it’s like I’m seeing this for what it is: a drawing exercise I really enjoy. I usually spend about 30 minutes but for the sake of a tutorial I’ve broken it into three 10-minute segments. The first one is here. Part two & then three will be available next week.

I’ve purposefully selected simple and inexpensive supplies like vine charcoal & newsprint paper. The last worry I want (when I’m feeling doubtful) is that feeling of “wasting” supplies. I want to relax and let my hand make marks on paper while disconnecting my analytical brain. JUST DRAW!

So… Give it a shot! Let me know what you think and stay tuned for part two and three!
