Lots of news to share with you today!
First, I’ve put two new pieces in my Artwork gallery.
Both are a part of my first series exploring reflections. I played with lots of names for the series. Received lots of great suggestions too, thanks! I boiled it down to three: Reflections, Secondhand Scenery or Vicarious Visions. Secondhand Scenery definitely got the most votes of those I asked so that’s what I’m going with.
The painting picture above on the left I’ve titled “Close Inspection” and the one on the right is “Fleeting Vision“. Click on the titles to read more about my thoughts on them individually. Today, they were submitted to the Scapes art show at Columbia Art League. Will know by Monday if one or both made it in. So my fingers are crossed for both!
Found out this week that my painting, Untitled (the garden snail), was accepted into the Interpretations V art show! I am very excited about this. It is my favorite show. Haven’t gotten the story/poem to interpret yet but I am hoping I can continue the accidental theme. The past two years my interpretive piece had a bird as the main subject or as part of the layout.
Also this week, I was invited to display my art at the Otto Lottes Health & Sciences Library at MU from September to December of this year. If I can make it work, I’ll have 6 to 8 pieces of my series done and display them together with at most 4 more pieces.
So there you have it! I’d better get to work!
