Sketching tools

IMG_4806
When I sit down to do a daily sketch, here’s the tools that I have ready and waiting. Some I have had since my college days like the blue Steadtler lead pointer and lead holders. The leads in different hardnesses are Alvin brand. Can you even get those anymore? (just checked and yes you can!) Those things are over 20 years old! But they still work.

The kneaded eraser, Pentalic woodless pencils, Ebony pencil and Tombo mono eraser are a bit newer. Though I’ve been using Ebony pencils  and kneaded erasers since highschool. The read thing is a Kum sharpener. I use it more when I’m out and about. Nearly out of the shot at the top is the electric sharpener I use at my desk. It’s a Wescott iPoint and I love it for both graphite and pastel pencils.

That leaves the sketchbook which is a Travelogue Artist Journal by Handbook Journal Co. This one is the large landscape one. I really like the paper in this journal.

By the end of the month I hope to have out a speed sketch compilation video. Now you’ll know what I’m using when you see it.

I would love to hear what you think of these tools if you use them. If not, I’d love to hear what you do use!
