It takes many forms. One of them is clipped to my easel. Maybe you’ve seen it in my studio or progress shots. It’s there to remind me that it is possible to make a living as an artist and to motivate me to keep going.

The postcard is from artist Gwenn Seemel. Her art is amazing. You should check out her website. She shares so much about it and herself on her video blog. I’ve learned quite a lot, even about myself. Her posts make me think and have helped me discover things about myself like why I paint what I do.

So, when she sent me this postcard it was like a little sympathetic magic for my easel. I see it every time I make art. It inspires me to keep going and take the next step, even though I’m afraid of failure or mistakes.
